MAIN TECHNICAL DATA FOR LIGHTER
Non-propelled one-hold lighter is designed for transportation of general cargoes by enlarged consignments without transshipment, bulk cargoes and mechanisms within sea routes and inland waterways.
Lighter is built with consideration of possibility of lifting (descending) by lighter’s crane on board the lighter, installation in piles in hold and on cargo hold covers; pushing along the river of single lighter or lighter forming a part of train; towing at moderate sea and with distance from shelter which makes: at open sea upto 50 miles, with permissible distance between two shelter places upto 100 miles; at enclosed sea upto 100 miles, with permissible distance between two shelter places upto 200 miles.
Lighter’s construction corresponds to USSR Register Class Ê Ë4ËÑË vessel’s barge.
Depending on hull reinforcement it is allowed for occasional sailing at ice brush. Documentation for lighter is worked out in accordance with Company “LEU System Incorporated” licence.
Hatch cover – watertight, 3-section, portable, consisting of two end and one central section with weight about 4 tons each. Closing of sections is performed with help of folding screw dogs. Cargoes transportation on hatch covers is not permitted.
Mooring arrangement – 4 manual winches (in two at fore and aft parts) and 8 mooring bitts. Winches are equipped with rope d=22mm, length 20m.
Lighter’s ventilation is natural and performed through ventilation stand (with branch pipe d=200mm), located at end parts of lighter. Ventilation branch pipes are equipped with removable watertight covers.
In order to perform air sampling while transportation of dangerous cargoes special connections with plugs are provided.
Four bilge wells are provided in lighter’s hold. Sounding and drain pipes are lowered towards them from deck sleeves with diameter 200mm. In order to control water presence in dry end and middle compartments, deck sleeves with diameter 50mm are provided.
Portable guard railing with height of 900mm is installed on sides and butt ends of deck; stanchions are steel, of tubular type. Rail is two-rowed, made of rope with diameter 8,3mm.
