One of the branches of serial production is manufacture of grabs. Starting in 1958 from manufacture of grabs for portal cranes with lifting capacity 5, 10 and 16 tons for handling of coal, ore and building materials, the yard is constantly extending the nomenclature of grabs under manufacture, reducing their weight and modifying grabs for bulk carriers of different density and number of ropes, with capacities from 2.5 tons to 5, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 35 tons.

The Shipyard has brought in and is able to supply over 55 rope grab models for bulk cargo and scrap metal handling. Grabs under manufacture comply with the modern technical level; have relatively small own weight, big capacity and perfect scooping. All design documentation for grabs manufactured by yard is worked out by specialized organization in compliance with state standards requirements and Rules of safety operation of cargo lifting cranes. 

Grabs manufactured by the yard are successfully operated in metallurgical and mining enterprises, coking works, different quarries, in Ukrainian and foreign sea and river ports. While designing grabs, constructors of “SRZ” ltd follow requirements of ГОСТ 24599-87, “Rules of safety operation of cargo lifting cranes” and Customers’ demands as well. 

The yard accepts orders for manufacture of special types of grabs in accordance with customers’ drawings for different types of cargo, including grabs for submarine works.

“SRZ” ltd has great experience in manufacture and design of grabs, possesses required equipment and skilled specialists. Grabs are certified by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and certification system UkrSEPRO, awarded with Diploma of laureate of Ukrainian competition “100 of the best products of Ukraine”.
